This Privacy Policy explains how Adstim LLC, operating Crewelo, collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you use Crewelo. Crewelo is a website and customer-inquiry platform for local service businesses. It supports business accounts, published business websites and marketplace discovery, customer requests sent to businesses, and the tools businesses use to manage those requests. This policy applies to crewelo.com, Crewelo accounts, Crewelo-hosted business sites, and related support and communications. It also explains regional privacy rights. This policy is intended to operate alongside just-in-time notices shown in forms, cookie controls, Stripe onboarding, communications settings, and provider-hosted websites.
Google user data: collection, use, storage, and sharing
This section applies when you select Continue with Google on Crewelo. Crewelo requests the Google OpenID Connect scopes openid, email, and profile to sign you in. These scopes let Google return your Google account's stable identifier (sub), email address, email-verification claim, full name, given name, family name, profile image URL, and preferred language or locale when available. Crewelo does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or other Google content.
How Crewelo uses Google account information
Crewelo uses the stable Google identifier to recognize the same Google account on later sign-ins and link it to your Crewelo account. The Adstim LLC authentication service also uses the stable identifier to recognize an existing Adstim account when you sign in to another Adstim application, so you can use a linked account across those applications. Crewelo uses your email address to create your account or match it with an existing Crewelo account, and records the Google email-verification claim with the linked sign-in record. Account matching uses the Google account identifier and email address. Crewelo stores your name and profile image with the linked sign-in record. When Crewelo creates a new account, it can use the Google name to fill first- and last-name fields. Your email may also be used for Crewelo account and service messages. Google Sign-In is optional; you can choose another available sign-in method.
How Crewelo stores and protects Google account information
Crewelo stores the Google account identifier, email, email-verification claim, and returned profile fields in the account's linked Google sign-in record. On later sign-ins, Crewelo refreshes the linked Google profile record. Adstim LLC operates the sign-in flow through auth.adstim.com: that authentication service exchanges the one-time authorization code and short-lived access token with Google to retrieve the profile information, then sends a short-lived, single-use sign-in handoff to Crewelo. The handoff expires after one minute and is not a Google token. Crewelo does not request offline access and does not store Google access tokens or refresh tokens after sign-in. Crewelo protects stored account data using access controls and security measures described in this policy.
When Crewelo shares Google account information
Crewelo does not sell Google account information, use it for advertising, use it to train generalized AI models, or disclose it to other Crewelo users, Providers, or customers. Adstim LLC's authentication service processes the Google identifier for account sign-in and linking. When you choose to sign in to another Adstim application, the identity service sends that application an authentication result and account link; it does not send the Google profile fields to that application. Crewelo and the authentication service also use hosting and database providers to operate sign-in and store the linked account record. These providers process the data only to provide those services. Google data is not transferred for advertising, resale, data-broker, lending, or generalized AI-training purposes. Crewelo may disclose it when required by law or needed to protect users and the service. Internal access is limited to people who need it to operate, secure, or support your account.
How long Crewelo keeps Google account information and how to delete it
Crewelo keeps your linked Google identity and profile information while your Crewelo account is active or the identity remains linked. If you ask Crewelo to delete your account, Crewelo deletes the linked Google identity and profile information as part of that request, except for specific records that must be kept for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes. To request access to or deletion of this information, email privacy@crewelo.com. Backups may retain deleted data until they are rotated out and are not used for ordinary service activity.
Crewelo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
1. Roles and scope
Crewelo acts as a controller/business for personal information used to operate accounts, the marketplace, platform security, billing, product analytics, legal compliance, network features, and Crewelo marketing. For certain Provider-site and CRM functions, Crewelo may process customer personal information on behalf of the Provider, in which case the Provider is the controller/business and the Business Data Processing Addendum applies.
Stripe independently processes payment and connected-account information under its own terms and privacy documentation. Crewelo does not receive raw payment-card credentials merely because a user pays through Stripe.
2. Information we collect
The categories below describe information Crewelo receives, the usual source, and why it is used. A particular user may provide only some of these details. Required fields are identified in the relevant sign-up, business profile, customer inquiry, or payment form.
Account and sign-in information
When you create or use an account, Crewelo receives your name, email address, username, password credential or federated sign-in identifier, account role, and sign-in/security events. You provide these details or they come from the sign-in provider you choose. Crewelo uses them to create and secure your account, authenticate you, associate you with a business workspace, recover access, apply permissions, and send essential account and service messages. For Google Sign-In, the specific Google data and handling are described in the Google user data section above.
Business account, website, and listing information
A business owner or team member may provide the business name, trade or service category, business phone and email, business address, city, service area, postal codes, hours, service descriptions, website content, photos, credentials, licenses, insurance details, and team roles. A user may also authorize or enter facts from the business's existing website or public business records. Crewelo uses these details to set up the workspace, generate and host the business website, display or update a marketplace listing, help customers find the business, route customer inquiries, verify or moderate listings, and provide the business dashboard. Information published on a business website or public listing can be seen by visitors and search engines.
Customer inquiries and service details
When a customer submits a request through a Crewelo-hosted business site or marketplace, Crewelo receives the name, phone number, and, if supplied, email address; the service requested; the customer's written project description; and any additional service details requested by the selected business's form, such as a service location, property or scheduling details, or preferences. Crewelo uses this information to deliver the request to the selected business, show it in that business's lead-management tools, support follow-up and quotes, and help the customer and business communicate. The business receiving the request can use it to contact the customer and provide the requested service; that business then handles the data under its own privacy notice and legal obligations.
Transactions, subscriptions, and customer support
Crewelo records subscription status, product selections, transaction references, amounts, billing events, and related support, refund, or dispute history. Payment-card and connected-account details are collected and handled by Stripe when Stripe processes a payment or onboarding; Crewelo receives payment-related status and reference information needed to show the transaction, manage a subscription, provide support, and keep accounting records. If you contact support, Crewelo receives the contact details and message content you choose to send and uses them to answer and resolve the request.
Device, usage, and preference information
When you browse or use Crewelo, the service and its security systems may receive your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested pages, referring page, timestamps, session and cookie identifiers, feature interactions, error reports, and security events. Crewelo uses this information to keep you signed in, remember settings, protect accounts and forms, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose errors, understand feature use, and improve service reliability. If you enter a location such as a business address or service area, Crewelo uses that location to configure the business profile and help customers find relevant providers. Crewelo does not need precise device location for Google Sign-In.
Information from other sources
Crewelo may receive business details from a business's team members, authorized imports, public business registers, the business's public website, public directories, sign-in providers, payment providers, and service vendors. Crewelo uses information from these sources to authenticate an account, carry out a user-requested import, populate or verify business information, process transactions, maintain security, and support the service. We do not treat a publicly available source as proof that every detail is accurate; business owners can correct information through available account or support channels.
3. Sources
We obtain personal information directly from users; from Providers and customers interacting with one another; from organization administrators; from Stripe and other service providers; from public business registers, provider websites, public directories, and other lawful public sources used to create or verify business listings; from referrals or invited team members; and automatically from devices and Platform usage.
4. Why we use information
We use personal information to provide and personalize the Platform; create and manage accounts; host business sites; publish and maintain listings; match customers and Providers; route leads; support quotes, bookings, payments, refunds, disputes, communications and reviews; operate subscriptions; prevent fraud and abuse; authenticate users; protect security; comply with legal obligations; respond to requests and complaints; measure product performance; improve ranking, search, and AI-assisted features; communicate transactional information; and, where permitted, market Crewelo or enable contextual sponsorships.
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, legal bases may include performance of a contract or requested pre-contract steps, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where consent is required for a particular activity such as certain marketing, cookies, or sensitive processing.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to: the customer or Provider necessary to facilitate a requested interaction; organization administrators; Stripe for payments and connected-account services; infrastructure, hosting, storage, analytics, communications, security, support, AI, and professional-service vendors acting under appropriate contractual terms; authorities or counterparties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or establish or defend legal claims; and a successor or transaction counterparty in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information for money. Crewelo may display contextual sponsorships or advertising. We will not use or disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a jurisdiction where doing so constitutes a regulated sale or sharing unless the required notice, consent, opt-out, or preference-signal controls are provided.
6. Business listings from public sources
Crewelo may collect public professional or business information to create or maintain marketplace listings. Where privacy law requires notice for information obtained indirectly, Crewelo will provide notice within the legally required period unless an exception applies. Individuals and businesses may use Crewelo’s listing correction/claim/removal channels, subject to legal and public-record considerations.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Crewelo uses cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, fraud prevention, analytics, and—only when enabled and lawfully configured—advertising or campaign measurement. Non-essential technologies are subject to regional consent or opt-out requirements. See the Cookie & Tracking Notice and Cookie Settings for the current inventory.
8. Retention
Crewelo retains personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including contractual, security, fraud-prevention, legal, accounting, tax, and dispute needs. Account data is deleted after a verified account deletion request is completed, subject to records that must be retained for those purposes. Transaction and accounting records may be retained for periods required by law. Security logs are retained only as long as needed to protect the service and investigate incidents.
Information held in backups may remain until those backups are rotated out. Crewelo limits access to retained information and does not use backup copies for ordinary service activity.
Crewelo reviews its retention practices as the service and legal requirements change.
9. Security
Crewelo uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, appropriate encryption at rest, logging, secure software-development practices, least-privilege controls, backups, incident response, and vendor-risk management. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
10. International transfers
Crewelo is operated by a U.S. company and may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, Crewelo will use recognized transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, the UK transfer addendum/IDTA as applicable, or another lawful safeguard. Users may contact Crewelo for information about applicable transfer safeguards.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, know, correct, delete or erase, restrict processing, object, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy, opt out of certain sales/sharing/targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, appeal a denied request, or complain to a privacy regulator. Some rights are subject to exceptions and verification requirements.
Submit requests by emailing privacy@crewelo.com. Crewelo may need to verify identity or authority before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. Crewelo will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
12. California privacy disclosures
If Crewelo is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for a given period, California residents may have rights to know/access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive non-discriminatory treatment. The categories Crewelo may collect include identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet/network activity; approximate geolocation; professional or employment-related information relating to Providers; user content and communications; and inferences or risk signals derived from Platform activity.
Crewelo does not sell personal information for money. If Crewelo engages in activity that constitutes “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, Crewelo will provide a “Your Privacy Choices” or equivalent mechanism and honor legally required opt-out preference signals. Crewelo does not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16, and the Platform is not directed to users under 18.
13. EEA, UK, Norway, and Switzerland
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, EEA data-protection law, or Swiss data-protection law applies, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to your local supervisory authority. Where applicable law requires a local representative or data-protection contact, Crewelo will provide the relevant details to users in that jurisdiction. You may contact Crewelo at privacy@crewelo.com with questions or requests.
If Crewelo uses automated systems to rank Providers, classify requests, detect fraud, or personalize results, Crewelo will provide additional information where law requires transparency about significant automated decisions or profiling.
14. Canada
Where Canadian privacy law applies, Crewelo will use personal information for identified, appropriate purposes and seek meaningful consent where consent is required. Individuals may request access or correction and may raise privacy complaints through privacy@crewelo.com. Crewelo will maintain safeguards and accountability appropriate to the sensitivity and context of the information.
15. Australia
Where the Australian Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles apply, this policy is intended to describe the kinds of personal information Crewelo collects and holds, how it is collected and used, how individuals can seek access and correction, how to complain, and likely cross-border handling. Crewelo will update this policy and product notices to address any additional automated-decision transparency obligations that become applicable.
16. Philippines
Where the Philippine Data Privacy Act applies, Crewelo will process personal data consistently with transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality, and will provide channels for data subjects to exercise applicable rights. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@crewelo.com. Crewelo will provide any additional contact or representative details required by law.
17. Children
Crewelo is intended for users 18 and older. Crewelo does not knowingly create marketplace or business accounts for children. If Crewelo learns that it collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, it will take appropriate steps to delete or restrict it.
18. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect legal, product, or operational changes. The “Effective” date will be updated and material changes will be notified as required by law.
